The PCL Centennial Learning Centre was built in celebration of PCL’s 100th Anniversary and focuses on staff training and education. As their new training hub and the focal point of their North American Headquarters, this 26,147 sq. ft. building in the PCL Business Park is a model of sustainable design and is Gold certified under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) rating system of the United States Green Building Council. The PCL Centennial Learning Centre houses state-of-the-art training rooms, boardrooms and meeting rooms, human resource and professional development offices, staff lunchroom, and an Assembly Hall overlooking landscaped gardens.
The central courtyard is developed as a raked or sloped garden to the lower level of the Learning Centre. A series of lawns connected by walks through mass planting leads to a main terrace. Its organization enables both major events focused on the terrace and casual use with seating walls and walks.
