
The CSLA is offering travel grants to students and 1st and 2nd year associate/intern members.
The program has two components: CSLA yearly Congress attendance, and Other event attendance, such as:
- those that support CSLA’s Strategic Plan, or
- events which are organized by CSLA component associations, or
- events which are organized by LAAC-accredited programs; or
- LaBASH.
Amount Available and Budget
For component 1: Congress Attendance, 10 grants of up to $1,000 are available yearly.
For component 2: Other Event Attendance, 10 grants of up to $700 are available yearly.
Deadlines
For component 1: Congress Attendance: April 4 at 4 pm EST.
For component 2: Other Event Attendance:
- For events being held from January to June: November 15
- For events being held from July to December: May 1
Eligibility
Students
Students enrolled in the landscape architecture programs of the following institutions are eligible:
- Université de Montréal
- University of Toronto
- University of British Columbia
- Dalhousie University
- University of Guelph
- University of Manitoba
- University of Calgary
Associate/Intern Members
First or second year associate/intern members of the CSLA in good standing.
Assessment
The applications will be assessed by the CSLA Executive Director according to the following criteria:
- a realistic budget
- the justification for the travel as expressed in the application form.
Administration of the Grant
If approved by the CSLA, the travel bursary will be paid when the following documents are supplied to the CSLA by e-mail:
- a copy of this form with the final report section completed
- proof of conference registration (receipt) and attendance (a photo on-site)
- proof of enrolment in an eligible university (for students)
- proof of 1st or 2nd year associate membership with CSLA or a component association (for associates/interns)
- transportation and accommodation receipts
- a confirmed email address for e-transfer.
A receipt of purchase is only required AFTER your application is submitted so you will be reimbursed the correct amount.
