In its first year of publication, Ground: Landscape Architect Quarterly has already galvanized interest and involvement in the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects for the members of the professional association and beyond. Produced largely through the volunteer efforts of a diverse and dedicated group of landscape architects, Ground has successfully reinvented earlier OALA newsletters to become a 50-page quarterly with a quality of graphic design, dialogue and professionalism that has drawn increased advertising revenue and rave reviews from readers. The magazine has received countless accolades and letters of commendation from members of the OALA (current and Emeritus), students and colleagues. In the words of one OALA member and former Governing Councillor, Ground is " ... one of the best things the OALA has ever done!" Ground is distributed quarterly to all members of the OALA, students of landscape architecture in Ontario, and colleagues and members of allied professions, including architects, engineers, ecologists and planners.
