About the Presenter

Jeff Cutler is an accomplished landscape architect, urban designer, and the founding principal of space2place, a Vancouver-based practice dedicated to the creation of transformative public spaces. With nearly three decades of leadership in advancing landscape architecture in Canada, Jeff brings a multidisciplinary approach that weaves together ecology, ethnography, engineering, and community engagement. His work on complex park, waterfront, and infrastructure projects — including major initiatives like the xəyeyət Iona Island Wastewater Treatment Plant and East Park — demonstrates a commitment to sustainability, innovation, and public value.

A Fellow of the CS, Jeff continually challenges conventional methods, integrating emerging technologies to develop sensitive, resilient, and forward-looking design solutions. As Co-Chair of the CSLA Climate Adaptation Committee, he is at the forefront of addressing the environmental imperatives shaping the profession. Jeff’s current work explores how artificial intelligence can amplify creativity, deepen research, and transform landscape practice — while ensuring that core human values remain central to the design of thriving public realms
