Mr. Vincent Dumais was awarded a Bachelor’s Degree from the School of Landscape Architecture of the University of Montreal in 1986. He became a member of Quebec’s Association of Landscape Architects (AAPQ) and the Canadian Society of Landscape Architects in 1989. Since 1985 he has served on the Board of AAPQ as students’ representative and in 1988 as representative of associate members. In 1989 and 1990 he was elected a member of the Board and became Vice-President in 1991. From 1992 to 1997 he served as WQ President, the longest term ever held by an individual.
Vincent has always been very actively involved in the organization of congresses, both provincially and nationally, including:
- In 1897 as Chair of Labash in Montreal;
- In 1989 as Chair of the CSLA Congress in Quebec City;
- In 1997 as Co-Chair of the CSLA Congress in Montreal; and
- In 2001 a Co-Chair of the joint ASLA/CSLA meeting currently held in Montreal.
Professionally, Vincent has been associated with landscape architecture through the lighting industry. As first, representative and lighting consultant to landscape architects at LUMEC from 1990 to 2000 and, more recently, as International Sales and Marketing Manager for Technomarine-Technobridge, a company specializing in floating structures and pedestrian bridges for all five continents.
