Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Bob left for southern Ontario and obtained an Urban Design Diploma in 1981, and his Bachelor of Landscape Architecture Honours from the University of Guelph in 1985. Bob received the ASLA Award for undergraduate achievement. Bob’s early career was in Toronto, and in 1987 he became an OALA and CSLA full member receiving the OALA award for top grade on the professional practice and ethics examination.
Bob and his wife Lesley-Anne (BLA 87) moved to British Columbia in 1993 to begin a family and pioneer Landscape Architecture in the provincial interior. Bob soon became a member of the BCSLA, and established and CO-led a multidisciplinary firm’s Kelowna office.
In 2005 Bob’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to start his own firm, and after several years he and his staff of 25 joined MMM Group. Bob held the position of National Practice leader for MMM Group and oversaw a wide variety of projects across Canada and abroad.
At Bob’s core is his vibrant, unwavering work ethic and integrity. Bob gives himself tirelessly to his profession, family and volunteerism. Bob has chaired and served on in many boards and committees including the Kelowna Christian School Board, Kelowna Arts Foundation, Advisory Planning Commission, Urban Development Institute, BCSLA Examination Board, CSLA Awards Jury, and most recently as President of the BCSLA. Bob is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and is an R.P.P. in British Columbia.
