As the first graduate in Landscape Architecture at the University of Toronto in 1969, Mr.Patrick Li has since been commltted in pushing the envelope of the practice of landscape architecture from traditional local scale projects to International scale sustainable ecological and urban developments.
As a co-founder of EDA Collaborative Inc. since 1978, he has won over 25 national and international design awards. A member of OALA since 1970, he has made numerous contributions to OALA as a Council Member and Chair of the Awards and Competitions Committee, served on various municipal panels and award juries, been a member of the University of Toronto Alumni Advisory Board and the Toronto Botanical Garden Centre Board. He was also invited as a plenary speaker on the Ontario International Trade Mission to China in 2005, promoting the profession to the Chinese market. Equally important has been his leadership in expanding the scope of the profession through his significant work in large regional scale urban planning projects in China since 2002, that represents the best of Canadian design to the international community.
Patrick is also a committed supporter of education and has served as a visiting design critic for the University of Toronto, University of Guelph, the Beijing Forest University, the University of Waterloo and at Louisiana State University. His work was featured in the Toronto Star and the Life Channel TV.
