Jonathan Sagi

Year of Investiture:

Ever curious, bold, and authentic, groundcubed Founding Partner Jonathan Sagi is a creator in all senses, from shaping expansive landscapes to building meaningful relationships that unite people, ideas, and specialties. After graduating from the University of Guelph with an Honors Bachelor of Landscape Architecture, he launched his career in Pawleys Island and eventually moving back to Canada in 2007. He has more than 25 years of experience spanning landscape architecture, architecture, urban design, and master planning for parks, zoos, transportation corridors, and civic infrastructure and institutions across Canada and the U.S. His talents reside in his ability to consider design from the grand scale to the intricate detail.

His dedication to landscape architecture in Alberta and Western Canada is demonstrated in his role as leader, mentor, connector, and trailblazer. Jonathan’s deeply rooted passion for changing the world through living art anchors his leadership of diverse teams with clear and creative direction. Jonathan weaves together technical sciences and human experiences to solve the intangible problems sitting between disciplines. He has mastered the art of bridging broad concepts with finer design details to deliver cohesive, dynamic spaces guided by environmental rhythms and community realities alike.

Unapologetically genuine in his approach to both life and work, Jonathan centres his practice around the people who’ve helped build it. Alongside his sharp business instincts, he nurtures a collaborative and refreshingly real culture where every team member feels empowered to step up, solve problems, and carry the firm's talent into the next generation.
