Executed Works of Landscape Architecture

As the founder and lead principal of CSW Landscape Architects Limited, Jerry has worked in every sector of Landscape Architectural practice across Canada and the US in his more than 50 years of professional experience.

Jerry Corush received his BLA in 1970, followed by an MSc in Recreation and Park Planning in 1972, both from the University of Illinois. In addition to his former ASLA membership, Jerry has been a longstanding member of the OALA and CSLA, receiving full membership in 1970. Jerry served on the OALA council in the mid ’70s, aiding the new association in solidifying itself as a respected province-wide body. Additionally, Jerry has proven to be a valuable leader and mentor to several landscape architects along their own paths to membership by acting as an OALA advisor. Many of these mentees remained at CSW for years, while others went on to start their own firms, where they continue to contribute to the profession based on the fundamental groundwork contributed by Jerry’s mentorship.

In 1975, Jerry started his own private practice and has spent the past 50 years building the firm’s reputation and longstanding commitment to the Ottawa Region with an innovative design approach that continues today. Jerry has made significant, observable impacts on the landscape of our nation’s capital with a breadth of projects that include National, Provincial, and Municipal Parks, University Campuses, transportation projects, and institutional and commercial developments.

Some of Jerry’s most notable projects include campus master plans for the various stages of development at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital, Lansdowne Park Stages I and II, Carling Campus Master Plan, Kanata Research Park, multiple projects at Ottawa’s two main university campuses, the City of Ottawa’s original bus transitway development, the Embassy of the United States of America, and Jewish Memorial Gardens.

Jerry has a passion for the profession of landscape architecture. His unique ability to promote the role of landscape architects on the many projects he has been involved with over the past 50 years have helped shape Ottawa into the green and vibrant City it is today.
