Jennifer Nagai is a registered Landscape Architect with the BCSLA and OALA with over twenty years of experience across Canada and abroad.  As a Partner at PFS Studio, she has developed an award-winning portfolio of work balanced between urban design, large-scale master planning, and landscape architecture.

Her commitment to design excellence and ability to conceptualize and develop detailed design solutions for a variety of planning and development scenarios to serve client needs with celebrated outcomes can be seen throughout Jennifer’s notable projects. Over the course of her career, she has directed many of the firm’s complex and high-profile commissions in British Columbia, Alberta and in the Metropolitan Toronto area.

Much of Jennifer’s work focuses on collaboration with the articulation of rich conceptual ideas through artful, expressive detailing. Art and landscape have been seamlessly intertwined in Jennifer’s most noteworthy projects at PFS Studio, including the Grange Park and Sherbourne Common and Bathurst Quay Common in Toronto and the True North Square in Winnipeg.

Within her work, Jennifer aspires to create landscapes that are founded on visionary placemaking principles that engage the community. Focusing on public realm, Jennifer is committed to the creation of meaningful public spaces that speak to the cultural and social values of a place. Through community consultation, Jennifer has created vibrant and engaging spaces that foster social sustainability and embody the values of the communities they serve. Central to her design philosophy is the importance of public open space as a locus of public life.  Her commitment to create open spaces that reflect the ideals and interests of a community ensures that the places she designs are well-loved and embraced.
