Birch Grove Residence

This contemporary residential garden in Oakville, On offers a fresh, bold aesthetic within a suburban neighbourhood

The materials and colours used in the landscape provide a strong integration with the design language of the house

Weathering metal mesh screens with integrated lighting provide syncopated structural elements along the front walkway

Different mixes of plants and bulbs were selected based on the varying light conditions and to provide seasonal interest.

The perforated steel lends a lightness to the structural panels and a visual continuity of the planting is maintained.

A pivoting wall on the porch designed by FWLA opens for direct access to the dining terrace for outdoor entertaining.

The side garden makes efficient use of the limited space available and borrows views of the surrounding landscape.

A large custom planter provides space for an herb garden beside the kitchen.

An Ipe bridge and stairs at the side of the house provide a seamless connection between the two main entertaining areas.
