Marc Hallé is a landscape architect at Claude Cormier + Associés, where he became a partner in 2015. Trained in both Civil Engineering and Landscape Architecture, Marc is sensitive to creating places that are both visceral and universal in appeal, and he is curious and committed to integrating contemporary issues such as sustainability, climate adaptation, water management, carbon footprint, and social inclusion as important characters into the narrative of each project. Many of the projects in Marc's portfolio are CSLA, ASLA and National Urban Design Award winners. Working within teams of professionals and builders, Marc has played a leadership role in maintaining conceptual integrity and technical innovation from the earliest stages of a project through to construction and beyond.
In his early years growing up in Saskatchewan, Marc always and only ever wanted to be an architect. Through a series of happy accidents and treasured mentors, as well as a detour through a degree in engineering along the way, Marc found his way to Landscape Architecture graduating with an MLA from the University of Toronto and starting as an intern at Claude Cormier et Associés in 2003. Marc has been a mentor for younger colleagues within the firm and for other emerging professionals, as well as a teacher serving as a visiting scholar in the US, and a course lecturer at the McGill University School of Architecture where he aspired over seven years to help other students find their way to Landscape Architecture too.
