Laurie Lamb Wagner graduated with a BES in 1974 and worked two years as a planner with for the Province of Manitoba. She returned to the University of Manitoba and received her M.L.A. in 1982. She interned at Hilderman Feir Witty Landscape Architects prior to joining her spouse, as a partner at David Wagner Associates in 1984. She became a member of MALA and CSLA in 1982 and served as a Council Member of MALA in 2000-2001.
Laurie has been the primary design partner responsible for a wide variety of public and private sector projects. Her portfolio of work includes private gardens, city parks and playgrounds, skateboard parks, spray pads, campgrounds, and commercial developments. Her primary goal has always been to create environments that are sustainable, engaging, and gratifying to people of all ages.
On projects such as the Deception Bay Cottage, Laurie’s influence can be seen in the design of the buildings and facades, site drainage, environmental protection, outdoor amenities, art installations, and overall fit with the natural environment.
Laurie has received CSLA Design Awards on numerous occasions as well as Winnipeg Accessibility Award recoginition for the St Vital Park Playground and the Freight House Redevelopment. Her designs lead by example and have expanded the public awareness of Landscape Architecture.
