The goals of the Component/Affiliate Advocacy Grant Program are to:
- provide financial assistance to components and affiliates through the funding of innovative and/or critical programs that could not move forward without additional funds
- create opportunities for components and affiliates to implement the CSLA strategic plan and current CSLA priorities
- create public relations opportunities for the profession externally
- stimulate member involvement on a provincial, territorial and local level.
This program provides CSLA components and affiliates with financial resources to develop projects that help implement the CSLA strategic plan and advance the profession of landscape architecture. Through this program, components and affiliates may receive matching funds for projects through CSLA to complement money already raised by the component or the affiliate.
This program is intended to support activities designed to advocate for the profession. These initiatives or events must be of significant value in advancing the profession to the public and/or to our allied professions. Examples of costs which could be covered by this grant program include meeting expenses (room rental, a/v rental, light refreshments), transportation costs, project coordinator salary, print materials, website programming, promotional materials, evaluation, consultancy fees, awards, etc.
Projects developed by alliances of components and affiliates are encouraged.
